Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller has been in a wheelchair for more than a year since battling a rare form of cancer, and she’s slowly made strides toward walking again. Now, it seems, she’s getting back to dancing.
“Back at it! Finally found an LA Neuro-Physical Therapy place to take me!!!” Abby wrote in the caption of a new Instagram video. In the video, Abby can be seen standing up with the help of a walker. She has a massive smile on her face and then raises her arms out in front of her in various ballet arm positions. Still smiling, she gives a little nod and simply says, “good,” before sitting down again.
People totally freaked in the comments. “You go,” one wrote. “Get it girl!!!” said another. Naturally, there were tons of heart and fist bump emojis, too.
This is awesome on so many levels. For starters, once she got up, Abby was able to stand unassisted—something that she’s been working on for a while now. Then there’s the fact that she now has enough strength and balance to do freaking ballet moves while she’s at it.
Abby Lee Miller reveals what she’s learned since her cancer diagnosis:
Abby has been sharing regular updates about her recovery on Instagram with fans. Earlier this month, she posted a pic of herself standing in pool, and in late October, she shared a video of herself walking in a pool unassisted. And now she’s dancing.
Abby was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, a rare type of cancer, a year ago.
